The Lord Advocate, the Right Honourable Elish Angiolini QC, is hosting a special conference to explore how lawyers can best contribute to the provision of pro bono legal services.
The conference – For the Public Good: the future of Pro Bono legal services in Scotland – will take place Friday 14 May, in Conference Room 1, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh.
The wide-ranging and collaborative conference is aimed at all providers of legal services, and will look at the provision of pro bono services from both the perspectives of the legal profession and the providers.

The programme starts at 9.30am with registration and coffee. The Lord Advocate will open the conference and make her keynote address at 10am.
The conference will then proceed with a host of speakers from the voluntary sector and the legal profession highlighting the current provision of pro bono legal services, encouraging participation and mapping out the future.
The conference will run until 1pm when lunch will be provided, with an opportunity to mingle and inspect the displays in the atrium.
